I just recently buy a new widescreen monitor, before i just use normal 17inch monitor, i want to ask if i play gamecube games and set it to widescreen is the screen will be stretched or real widescreen?

I try it with some games and doesnt seem really stretched but i want to know the true answer.

How about wii games? is it stretched or not?

if you've made the correct settings your games will appear wide. it will still have black bars top and bottom, because most computer monitors are not 16:9 widescreen,
OK, thank you for the answer, another question, will change aspect ratio in wii ipl settings affect the wii games, because in gfx settings already has the option
Yes. The Widescreen Wii option causes games to squish the image horizontally, so that it looks right when stretched to 16:9. In the future, we'll probably sync this with the OpenGL plugin widescreen setting so that it always does the right thing for Wii games.
Ok, although not really understand i think i'll just use 4:3 because a bit ugly in 16:9 because of the stretch

You didn't seem to understand what ector said :D

In fact, most Gamecube games don't have a widescreen setting, so checking 16:9 in OGL will just result in a stretched image.

But -Every- Wii games do have a 16:9 mode ! and this mode can be enabled in the IPL settings.
Once it's enabled Wii games will use a 16:9 aspect ratio, and to get correct result you'll have to set 16:9 in the OGL plugin too.
Then your -Wii- games will play fine without stretching :thumb:
(though as ector said, currently, setting 16:9 in IPL doesn't automatically set OGL to use it, and vice versa, so you'll have to set both)
