Hi. I recently downloaded Dolphin so i can play my games at a higher quality, but i have a q6600. I was wondering when you enable dual core that it uses 2 of my cores? I haven o way to tell and i even set the affinity to 2 cores. Does anyone have anymore information on this?

typically even when set to 2 threads, those 2 threads will be balanced across the cores if there is more then 2.

so you have thread 1 on core 0 and 1, and thread 2 on core 2 and 3.

You can tell the usage by looking at the Performance tab in task manager.

Thanks for the reply. I have another question though. I set the affinities to 3 and 4 and they peaked right away. I'm going to overclock soon. How many ghz do i need to be using with these 2 cores. Can't a core 2 duo at 2.4 ghz do the job or do you need to go with the high end dual cores like the E8400?

well to be honest im not really sure of the requirements for the best running of dolphin, but if you aren't getting full speed, then some more cpu power might help.

just remember sometimes the Videocard can be a limit point as well :)
