I just got a 800Mhz AMD Duron laptop to play with and it has an Ati Rage Mobility.

first off, the Rage M isn't as powerfull, or feature laden, as a Nvidia 2 Go chipset. However it is cheaper, and coupled with a good processor can still hold it's own against a TNT1.

If you choose to run psx emus I recommend using the Pete's D3D (DX7) GPU, and using the fast settings. (also keep the desktop color-depth the same and as your emulator settings or you might get errors...just some good advice)

From a few quick tests, I found both MGS (FPSE) and FF9 (ePSXe) were both very playable.

overall, I am very pleased with ATI Rage M for psxemulation. :D

expect a mobile savage review soon.

VGS coupled with daemon has always worked for me....and hasn't given me any trouble so far.

...well, i guess it'll be anytime soon now, notebooks shouldn't run win98SE anyway. :D

yes you are 100% right about VGS.

it works great, but doesn't run on anything else but windows 9x :(
in that respect FPSE and ePXSe are more flexible...and they offer hardware accelleration too ;) hee hee.

Now, I only wish I could get my hands on a nvidia 2 go...now that would be tight!
