I'm trying to configure the ePSXe to play as closely as possible to the PSX, in games such as Silent Hill, Resident Evil or the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy.

Does anyone know what resolution I should use or how to configure the video plugins?

What do you think would be the best option for this?
"Pete GL2 Core" or "ePSXe Core"?

Thanks for your time folks!
Have a nice day guys

Games that dont look like cartoons benefit from OpenGl, the others benefit from epsxe gpu core, but you should try pete's plugins you can download at sourceforge, i'm using Peops to play lunar silver star with scale2x filter that doesnt exist in ANY of the other plugins.

Edit - none of them give 100% of the same appearance as they have on ps1, the best improvement you can get is using the XBR filter on epsxe gpu core if your computer/video card can support it, my onboard card doesnt....

epsxe is OLD
now you have to use
DUCKSTATION
in there you can select internal resolution 720p - 1080p - 4k
and in filter select xBRZ and select x2 x3 x4...

is a new emulator more easy, you don't have to configure every plugin, it just all in one

open your eyes, dont use OLD THINGS

Hello, this is the config I've been using for years ever since v1.5.2 back in 2004:

Video:
Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.60

Sound:
Pete's DSound Audio Driver 1.10

CDrom:
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2

When using video, Configuration For Pete's OpenGL Renderer...

Resolution & Colors
*Fullscreen
*Desktop resolution: 640x480
*Color Depth: 32 Bit
*Change Desktop settings
*Window size: 640x480
Texture
*Texture quality: R8 G8 B8 A8 - Best color, more ram needed
*Texture filtering: 0:None
*Gfx card vram size: 0 (Autodetect)
*Smart texture garbage collection
Framerate
*Use FPS limit
*Auto-detect FPS/Frame skipping limit
Compatibility
*Off-Screen drawing: 4:Extended - Can cause garbage
*Framebuffer textures: 2: Gfx card buffer - Can be slow
*Alpha MultiPass
*Mask bit
*Advance blending
Misc
Scanline brightness (0...255): 0

It may not align w/ a more up-to-date version of Pete's OpenGL Driver, but you should be able to figure things out from here... However, if I were in your shoes, I'd bypass epsxe altogether for Duckstation instead since the developers of epsxe have abandoned the project and have yet to release its source code :( ...
