I tried reading other podt to find the same problem like me. So i want to start install [email protected] from the beginning to my PC. B4 iam not sure about my friend who gave me the emu, I want to be guide by any other poeple who have success running PS2 in PC with no problem. Bcoz in my PSCX2 now,the FFXII dosnt work good. its only 15 frame rate per second. I have tried other game (Harvest Moon A wonderfull Life) its still the same. Even worst than the FFXII. I try to make it Virtual Drive But still the same.

Bcoz of that problem,I decide to start all over again. with the experince of Guide of course. Any body help me?

This is my PC :

*. Windows xp sp 3
*. Intel P4 2.4 Ghz
*. 1GB RAM
*. Nvidia 8400 GS 512 MB
*. DVD ROM

You *need* a dual core CPU at a recommended speed of 3GHz or faster. (the dual core part is probably the most important aspect for a decently running game)

Your video card is pretty weak too. It can bottleneck many graphics intensive games.

BTW, you might want to edit your first post and put a space in between the 1 and the @. Otherwise you may wind up with Viagra spam in your email box.

pcsx is a ps1 emulator, not a ps2. please check the section descriptions before posting your topic to avoid mix-ups like this in the future.

with that gear you can :
run PS1 emulation great
run PS2 emulation ..... not good but you can run at 20 FPS --> 30FPS

The GPU is fine. I use a mobile 8400m GS 128MB, so I'd imagine the desktop equivalent should be fine.

The CPU is the bottleneck here, being single core. 3GHz is perhaps an overestimation, I get 100% speed in almost all games on my 2.50GHz, but there certainly could be certain points in games that would benefit from greater (like the more complex town sections of FFXII).

Someone tell me this satatement

PS2 is equivalen = IP4 2,4 Ghrz, nvidia GF 7300 512, 1GB RAM,DVD rom

My VGA card is greater than that sugesstion (GF 8400). My PC supposed to be work fine to run ps2 game (if based on equivalen above). And the PSCX2 supposed to be work. I know that his statement is right. because i have already installed (ofcourse i played too) Windows Game :Tomb Raider Annyversary DVD. And the grafic of that game really similar with PS2.

Or maybe PSCX2 really needed computer that more than PS2 equivalen.

PS: i use PSCX 0.9.2 for the test, i have already download the 0.9.6 version but its wrong bios. but the 0.9.2 is work but slow (15 fps)

I mean PCSX2 bro... Just read it...

i dont know whats wrong. maybe my Processor or maybe my PCSX2 version ( I Use 0.9.2 . the 0.9.6 that i downlaoded is have a wrong bios)

Holy s**t guys, we got another one that for some reason thinks that the PS2 has a PC equivalent.

Your ignorance on this issue is astounding. Think of it like this:

Let's say: PCs speak English and the PS2 speaks Japanese. PCSX2 is a translator of sorts. Some things that a PS2 "says" cannot fully or easily be translated to the language the PC speaks.

What this means is that you need a PC that is much more powerful than the PS2 so PCSX2 can "translate" faster.

BTW - you do need a new CPU at least. A single core P4 is garbage for PS2 emulation.

I wonder what the true problem is. does My Processor have to change to dualcore / or maybe the version of my pcsx2 is not the latest?

I cant wait anymore to play FFX and XII ion my PC. I wish I could play it

Dual core processors indeed make a big difference...
