I think the PS2 is better than the PStwo. Mainly because it can have a hardrive in it. The PStwo is only if you plan to play games online without a hdd. I say get the classic.
the ps2 is better, the pstwo have overheating problems.
I dont believe the PStwo has overheating problems, mostly because I doubt Sony would release a game system that overheats, partly because I have not heard of this, and partly because from a technology standpoint it is totally feasible that you could now put PS2 technology into a system with no fan, as it has had a good 3 years since it was realeased. But to awnser your question, I would get the PS2 if you dont mind paying extra for the ethernet adapter, since the PS2 can support a hard drive.
but i aint interested in playing online just wanna play some games with a couple of freds and stuff like that so which one would you recomend
Of cours big sister ps2 :) it's big, you can connect hdd, you won't breake it to 2 peaces in the middle that easy, when you hold it in hand you know that you're holding something :D, new slim version is... tricky, lot's laser burns ect.

anything what's all about those freds? you know... very young ppl read here  ;)
whats the point in a hdd for ps2 when you basically only need the memory card
Did you read the above posts? The HDD is for online games like Final Fantasy XI

Incidentaly the new PSTwo is too small. When I was at my brother's place we lost tit when I left it on top of my Xbox

also HDD can help your laser, it will live longer :)
but do the classic PS2 actually come with a hdd

I know for a fact that my PSX would overheat, and the PS2 does as well, though not as bad. Ever heard of DRE? Using your PS2 when it's overheated is one of the main causes for it. I believe in the manual, Sony recommends that you turn it off for 15 mins every 2 hrs, like anyone ever does that.

umm what does that have to do with the quetion i asked about does the classic PS2 come witha HDD or do you have to purchase one
No, the classic PS2 does not come with a HDD.

As for the overheating problem, no, the PSTwo doesn't overheat, it just has the ****tiest lens ever used in a console, it's even worse than the PS2's
sorry for this but i dont really know much about this stuff but whats a [****tiest lens ]
He means that the lens of the laser is REALLY bad:)p) so in many cases it stops working
In other words a very sh!77y lens and I can confirm this these new ps2's lock up always, I can barely get through a game of madden 2005 without it locking up just once.
I have a PS2 from release day and it still works perfectly. I've done no mods and only attached the Network adapter to it. The thing about he hard-drive is that you don't have to buy sony's offical one you can put in any standard hard-drive. There is also programming that lets you copy games onto the hard-drive. It allows to boot up games faster and takes away risk of damaging CD/DVD.
Yeah, as said before the lasers in the pstwo are so bad...I think I read this the second day they came out, haha. I hear the the PS2's are high in price now(on ebay) because people are sick of the pstwos? oh and also I remember my PSX having heating problems, so I took game cases and stuck them under it on both sides, helped it breath...
so i guess that means that the classic is better then the PStwo
