second, if you have the money, you can back up dvd's for about 1500+ US$ for the burner and 20+ US$ for the blank dvd its just not as economical to get a dvd burner
Actually, Pioneer just released the OEM version of the first DVDr internal drive, and they said the retail version will sell for $1000 (It's pretty cool... Reads/Writes CDr's, CDRW's, and DVDr's, and of course reads DVD's and CD's). They say the price will drop a few hundred dollars once the mass-production of them starts. If Sony ever gets their DVD-RW drive off the ground, the competition will surely lower the price even more... The cost of the media will probably drop drastically as drives become more main-stream, also.
finaly, i cant remember where i read it but not every ps2 game is dvd based some of them are still cd based
Yep, in fact, IIRC, of the US launch titles for the PS2, only one was on DVD, and many of the new ones are still on CD as well.
