Hi guys. Plz post here all related info. Here is my simple PS2 BIOS unpacker - http://brokensword.narod.ru/ps2bios_unpacker.zip. It just unpacks bios image to .elf files. For exemple, my Europe v.2.00 (14/06/2004) (btw, how pcsx2 knows it?) bios contains 59 .elfs.

just launch ps2bios_unpacker.exe dump.bin
post here results of your reverseing progress.

Is that legal?

Of course yes . Just look into Misc.c (from pscx2 sources) - how Florin detects BIOS version . I'll post reversed pieces of BIOS with explanation soon.

The download is definetly corrupt. I'm using Winrar, Winzip, and Windows XP and they all say corrupt. I've redownloaded 10+ times using both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer (evil).

Sorry guys for damaged zip. PS2 BIOS unpacker has been updated, new version extracts file-modules from BIOS image useing ROMDIR structure, produces self-explanatory filenames and includes source code. Plz, check it now. The link is the same:

P.S. to pcsx2 developers: guys, i think you've reversed each BIOS byte for creating your great emulator. How did you do that ?). It requires very high reversing skills, or maybe you just paid Sony something ?) If so - how much?

well some of the info we got from modules reversed by [RO]man (i think its florin under a different alias?) which you can find on the ps2dev network, other info we got from reversing/testing etc.

Thats because you didnt change the run.bat file
For example, I changed mine to the following;

REM Example of use:

ps2bios_unpacker [b]scph39001.BIN[/b]
REM ps2bios_unpacker SNDIMAGE
pause

Notice the only word changed inside it was the Bios file itself.
Anyways, clever tool, good work
