Problems with FF7/8 n Pete's D3D

i've been getting weird coloured lines n dots all over the screen when using petes d3d plugin for ff7 n ff8. however they only appear on prerendered screens (ie the game screens) but not the battle screens. normally i would be using OGL but in ff7, the battle screen flickers like mad and as far as i know no one has found a fix for this yet (nope changin OD doesnt work). this has been driving me nuts for a few days n i have posted about it b4 in an earlier thread about the FF7 flickering thingie but i guess no one replied.:confused:

My config is as follows:
Plugin: Pete's D3D Driver 1.1.53

GFX card: NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro

Resolution/Color:
- 1024x768 Fullscreen - [32 Bit]

Textures:
- R8G8A8A8
- Filtering: 4
- Caching: 2

Framerate:
- FPS limit: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 2
- Framebuffer texture: 2
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: on
- Advanced blending: hardware

Misc:
- Scanlines: off [0]
- Unfiltered FB: off
- Dithering: off
- Full vram: off
- Game fixes: on [00000001]

does anyone know the cause of this or how to fix it? alternatively if theres a fix available for the OGL problem(ie the FLICKERING) i will happily switch back to it. ;) thx in advance!!
