Problems With ePSXecutor

2240 Views 12 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  DsevenO
Originally I installed ePSXecutor so that I could properly use my memory card files. After a few glitches, I was finally able to get ePSXecutor to start up the ePSXe program. The emulator seems to be trying to start up (I'm hearing the Playstation boot-up sound), but then nothing happens - the boot-up sound just goes on indefinitely with a blank screen. Could it be that I've typed the command line for the specific game incorrectly (-loadbin c:\emus\ePSXe\games\gamename.bin) or is this the result of something else that isn't configured properly in ePSXecutor?

Are you sure that you have configed all the plugins that you want to use? Next in the options tab in epsxecutor check the box for "start epsxe GUI" that will bring up epsxe like you are used to seeing it, then you can choose iso you are looking for. Also you need to format memory cards. I don't use the command line for anything, not to say that some games might not need them, but I haven't needed any of those commands epsxecutor should have just about everything that you need, btw make sure you read the readme file or faq not sure which it comes with that tells you everything.
What games are you trying to run? What are your exact settings for the plugins you are using? If all else fails I have heard some guys have had the same problem of epsxe not responding, and they completely unistaled and deleted epsxe from the registary and started over. That seemed to fix there problems. I my self had never had that much trouble. Also what are your comp specs?

After I thought about it for a little while I did have that same problem before. I had used the wrong letter for my cd drive under the options.
When you use epsxecutor it changes the configs in epsxe. My first thought is that one of the plugins that you are using is not config the same as when you were using epsxe. My second thought is that I have no other ideas of what could be wrong.
If you have epsxecutor running it should run just as well as epsxe. The performance will probablly in your plugins settings, the options tab will give you more control over the emulator. In my case games run much better with the ecutor than without. It is just kind of tweek here and tweek there on the plugins to get the best playabilty with you games. What kind of problems are you having with your games?
For the movies there is Misc. settings at bottom of options tab for mdecs(game movies). As for the high speed enable acurate cd timing if that doesn't help in the gpu plugin(pete's) enable FPS limit I think auto detect should be enough but if not you can manually select a frame speed. I am not sure but I think that us versions should be at 60fps and pal should be 50fps. Saw a thread about that somewhere but couldn't find it.Saving have you tried not using F4, because I never have to use it to save in any of my games.
