I've been searching around for the past two days trying to get my rom to work efficiently. Please don't be sarcastic if I missed something simple?

Okay, I know pressing F4 changes the frame rate setting, but is doesn't seem the effect anything on the world map. Before hand, I had a problem with it lagging so bad on the world map is was unplayable, so I switched my sound plugin to Eternal SPU. I think I had some ePSXe SPU before. But now it goes so fast on the world map it's a bother. Which wouldn't be so bad except for the fact the random battles I run into on the World map are ALSO speed up to no end. Is there any way to fix this? Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks! :D
