You didn't read the FAQ thread carefully. If you have read it carefully, you will know that snapshot only works for gba games; therefore, you will have to save using the ingame save function.
Yes there is an ingame save function. You just go to the game menu and select save. Most likely you don't know how to access the game menu. To access the game menu, press the X button.
