I play my favourite title Xenosaga Episode III on PCSX2 with my specs:

Intel i5 2500k,
8GB DDR3 RAM,
Geforce GTS 260

and its running smoothly on 1400*1050 (to keep aspect ratio of 4:3 on a 16:10 screen with a 1050p panel) at about 60fps with system-forced Anti-Alaising.

This screen was made a bit earlier for testing:

(I didn't use anti-alaising back then. so the text looks quite screwed)

more screens of this beautifully designed PS2 game might follow!

PS: I played Shadow of the Colossus on my PS3 in the HD Collection already and had a great time of trophy colecting, so I prefer this 16:9 HD version.^^

Tales of the Abyss (SLUS-21386)
Runs at 60 FPS with MTVU Speedhack.
Make sure you turn off all other speedhacks, or you'll end up getting freezes while playing.

Hate to be off topic but in mgs3 I get slow down any time on run through grass is and was wondering. Is the swaying handled by the emotion engine and is that the weak link in the emulation. I also get heavy slowdown in gt4 and was wondering if that was the cause of some of it.

No, you probably have a massively underspec CPU. With my laptop, I haven't found a game that PCSX2 refuses to run at max speed.
