I've been seeing people posting their 3D Mark 2001 benchmark scores and kind of wondering, "hey, you may have a ridiculously high score there, but for all i know it was at the lowest resolution, lowest detail etc" so, here it is... do a 3D Mark 2001 with the same settings in the screenshot and post your score... feel up to it? :)

Just for the record here is my score: 2030

My system spec:

Windows 2000 Professional (Service pack 2)
Direct X 8.0a
Creative 32MB GeForce 2 GTS
Intel Pentium III 700MHz
320MB PC100 RAM
AGP 2X (i'd do it in AGP 4X, but the system gets unstable with it)
Fast Write & Sideband address mode both enabled
Nvidia 12.41 Official Detonator drivers

I have a feeling i'm gonna be humbled by CDBurnout's score....

I score @ 5400 with my GeForce 3 on a 1.2Ghz Athlon. But I don't think 3Dmark scores are that important since it doesn't really reflect game performance. Sometimes when a new driver is released my 3Dmark 2001 score goes up a few hundred pts, but my actual framerate in games drops.

Using the same 3dMark2001 config as you BOB, I get 2250 with the following specifications:

Classic Athlon 700 overclocked to 850
Alpha P7125 cooler
Asus K7v Motherboard
320Mb CAS2 PC133 Crucial RAM
Windows 2000 Professional Enterprise
Direct X 8.1
Asus V7700 32MB GeForce 2 GTS Deluxe
AGP 4X (dunno about sideband, how do I find out?)
Nvidia 12.60 Detonator drivers

I get about 2550 when running Windows Me with the same hardware.

Actually we have very similar machines BOB, I too have a Ricoh MP9060a combo DVD/CD/CDR/CDRW drive, very happy with mine.

Aha, so you got better performance out of the 12.60 drivers over the 12.41 drivers?

Very interesting...

Has been running like that for about 2 months now... No glitches... Some people can get the FSB even higher wihtout glitches... and the video card too... but its just luck, because it depends on the chip... some will go higher, some wont...

Thats odd, you got over 901 points above mine and yet your processor is only 100MHz faster and your graphics card is a less powerful GeForce 2 MX.

That is weird.

Hmm, possibly..

Still, the AGP 4X is rarely ever used by 3d apps... i guess the makers of 3d mark do try to push the system.

To my knowledge textures etc only really start getting shifted across the 4X buffer of the AGP bus when the Graphics cards memory starts getting low/runs out of space to store textures and its switching textures from the system memory to the graphics card.

information has to be sent to the graphics card's GPU from your CPU and the faster it can be sent the faster the graphics card can preform the operations, so if your sendin at 2x (133MHz) data will move a little slower compaired to 4x (266MHz)

Heh, funnilly i got absolutely awful Direct 3D performance with the 6.50 drivers, good performance on the 6.18, 6.31, 6.34 (fast trax creative drivers) and 7.76.
Personally i get the best performance out of the 12.41 drivers.

I've yet to try the 12.60 drivers.

Oh, btw.. i've been playing around with my bios settings etc

I've now gotten 2080 out of 3D Mark 2001

Are you sure you people who are getting @3000 in 3Dmark 2001 with a GeForce 2 MX are running 3Dmark 2001 and not 2000? From the reviews I've seen the GeForce MX scores roughly 3000 in 3Dmark 2000 and Bob's 2000 in 3Dmark 2001. Here's a MX review with 3Dmark scores http://www.guru3d.com/review/guillemot/3dprophet2mx64/

Anyways 3Dmark 2001 is the one with the truck chase as the first demo. It also has a woman riding a dragon attacking a town in one of the demos, and some Max Payne.

have you tried bumping up your bus speed? I ran 3dmark 2001 again with no overclocking, and got a score of 2975... have you tried to Overclock your system?
