Possible fix for VGS in XP

Ok, first off I have no idea whether this might be able to fix VGS to work in XP, but I'll say it anyways. Insert your WinXP CD into your drive, and go to the folder SUPPORT\TOOLS\. From there open the file "ACT20.EXE" (this is on the Prof. Vers., I don't know if the Home Vers. has it). This should launch the Application Compatiblility Toolkit Setup. Install it and all, then go to Start Menu>Programs>Application Compatiblility Toolkit>Compatibility Administration Tool. Once it's open, go to Database>Create Application Fix. A new window'll come up. From there choose "Apply specific Compatiblity fix", and choose Next. For the name, type "Connectix Virtual Game Station", or whatever you want. Click next. On the next window, click browse and navigate to your CVGS 1.41 exe file and choose it, then click next. From here you're on your own. This offers many different fixes for applications. There might be one specific combination to get CVGS to work in XP, but I don't know. I'm sure one of you technical wiz people'll figure it out. If it does work, be sure to give me credit :D

VGS on XP Home Edition?????

I read over EmuDek about a rumor (in other words: IT IS NOT CONFIRMED yet), that "VGS works fine on Windows XP Home Edition", but it doesn't work on Windows XP Professional... this makes sense to me.

Could anyone with XP Home Edition confirm it? If it is true, then that's a good news.
I had Home Edition until I upgraded to Professional Edtion, and CVGS doesn't work in either of them.
Hi Slein!
Thanks for the reply... the rumor was too good to be true
No problem Aldo. But to get back to my original post, do you think someone could try patching it using the method I posted about.
no work for me, I tried so many different fixes, it seems only that it don´t work on xp, so now im waiting for the next OS from microsucks or maybe lindows will do the trick :eyes:
OK, if u have a little more ram and space in disk u can try this:

I don't know if everyone knows about it.....
well.....I had a win XP (home edition) and I tryed VGS....(wont worked) so i got a program called Connectix Virtual PC...(u can see the link if u use to visit aldo's page alot of times) but since this program don't have a good explanation (even in the connectix web site) PS: for the ones who don't know connectix is the producer of VGS...I will lost my time trying to tell ya.....
The program simple create a new user and boot another PC inside your own PC.....on windows....u can use this "another PC" to install another version of windows...(without having to worry about the plataform options that sucks and u always have to change configuration between two Windows...) u only uses this "another PC" when u want.....
Ufff.....now u can install VGS on your PC......
But it will require a lot of ram and disk space to run two plataforms at the same time and install the both.....and its a pay program...u wont find cracks so easily than if u try find it for VGS.......
Thats why i returned to my good and compatible Windows ME....
Good luck on trying VGS on XP.......
Bye....
PS: And Hi to everyone, I'm am a junior member but , since I pretend to work with games when i grow up i will have plenty of time to write here in the forum....if u wanna chat about rpgs contact me....ok.....bye........
