Well as long as no one has pr0n popups except for him, there isn't a problem since he likes pr0n :rolleyes:

Just kidding :p

But I have never seen popups such as those so....

well, I have both ad aware and spy-bot and antivirus and whatever else nothing detect anything... and I don't get any popups as long as I keep the ngemu cookies. I don't get porn popups on any other site... but maybe it was fixed already before you guys started trying :)

TRacking of the problem

Okay, so I decided to track the problem because of all the discussion and the solution is the following: Ngemu uses

http://www.paypopup.com/loading.php...=7130&tid=1096363034&ref=http://www.ngemu.com

for popups, and it appears like this paypopup has some porn and casino related popups, that will come up occasionally. ( Probably depending on what they have stored about the users site visiting habbits :innocent: ) anyway this is the reason for it all. I'm done posting here now.

You are having spyware + adware crap in your computer.
Update spybots definitions and run it again, then install this program: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html
Update it and run, and your computer is protected against spyware.
NGEmu doesnt have porn popups, only some casino ones.

well he already said he scanned his hd for that stuff.

I since he seems to have found a solution, wouldn't it be better to close this thread? (just a suggestion :))

There was a porn ad a year or two ago that had to be taken care of. As Raziel pointed out, these things happen and have to be addressed. I haven't seen the current problem issue, but I would assume based on the past experience that it's definitely something else that affects the site (at least for now).

We've been discussing this on IRC. To further elaborate on what Raziel has said, the following Javascript code is executed upon page load. This code iterates through all of the links on the page and tags them with a http://www.sponsorsnet.com/... URL to hijack the link and display an ad.

Code:
var pathname = document.location.pathname;
var level = pathname.substring(0,pathname.lastIndexOf("/"));
var domain = document.location.protocol +"//" + document.location.host+"/";
var sponsorsnet = 'http://www.sponsorsnet.com/findingads.php?q=FEFq3E==<ccrQcMQQQYERRVWTYcRRRRcQZYVTZYWSZ'+'&ref='+escape(self.location)+'&url=';
var i;

// look all links to show links
var atag = document.getElementsByTagName("a");
for (var i = 0; i < atag.length; i++){
        var ori_link = atag[i].href;
        var ori_keywords = "--";
        // get keywords from URL
        if (atag[i].firstChild) {
                node = atag[i].firstChild;
                if (node.nodeValue) {
                        ori_keywords = (node.nodeValue).substring(0, 250);
                }
        }
        // internal links - within this domain
        if (2 == 1) {
                if (ori_link.indexOf(domain) == 0) {
                        atag[i].href = sponsorsnet+escape(ori_link)+"&kw="+escape(ori_keywords);
                }
        }
        // external links - outside of this domain
        else if (2 == 2) {
                if (ori_link.indexOf(domain) == -1) {
                        atag[i].href = sponsorsnet+escape(ori_link)+"&kw="+escape(ori_keywords);
                }
        }
        // replace all links
        else {
                atag[i].href = sponsorsnet+escape(ori_link)+"&kw="+escape(ori_keywords);
        }
}
I don't know the full story about these ads but it would appear that they are only shown to logged in members. If a visiter is not logged in then they get a popup instead.

Hopefully Bobbi will be able to further explain.

Sometimes I get popups even when I'm not on a webpage ;) (I have every spy/ad/anti thing availible) :p Just cuz you get a popup doesn't always mean it's from the site your on. Sounds weird yes ... :p

What Chrono Archangel just posted happened to me too and its not my problem im sure. I have no ad-aware that would couse links to change. And Razor Blade, some programs (like Flashget for exemple) are not detected as adware and they open some popups from time to time (yes flashget is one of them)

Well, i'm the kind of person that has to see to believe. I took your message into account, tried to get those popups, and couldn't. Knowing it's common to see this behaviour in infected pc's, that became the most logical possibility.

Anyways, NGEmu is still filled with good people, just stick around and you'll see by yourself :) .

Well just don't take it personal. I can understand it's not nice to hear that you aren't taken serious in a certain way. But plz understand that we can't believe everything that is told unless there is some kind of prove... No one of the regulars has seen it so the most obvious thing is that you have spyware especially since you claimed in your initial post that you don't have a problem with porn.

And just like I-Chan says, there are a lot of good ppl here :thumb:

Well unfortunately I was unable to see any popups after logging out and disabling the pop up blocker. All I got was this little white window in the bottom right corner which dissapeared in a second.

I do believe ChankastRules because it's happened here before. I don't know why the hell you guys all get so defensive. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
