Does anyone know how to make the wifi for pokemon platinum work? It worked for diamond and pearl . I get a game error message, " A communication error has accured. you will be returned to the title screen. please press the A button."

Do I need to do anything to active it? Or is it just because of platinum or my game version?

edit: it is so I can use the underground
edit:I am not looking for true wifi, just to trick the game in to thinking there is.(so I can access to underground)

Well there is no solution. No DS emulator has working WiFi.

well wifi is need to let it conect to the underground and some how diamond and pearl where able to use the underground. Why not platinum?

thats what I want to work with this version of the game so it is "tricked" in recognising it.

it seems to be more of an issue either with the No$gba emu version or the game changed how it detects "wifi".

That basic WiFi implementation merely allows no$gba to run Pokemon (it has a WiFi check immediately when loaded which used to fail and had to be patched out for the game to even run however since this basic implementation that's no longer the case) but it can't do anything practical yet and does not work for the Underground area in Pokemon or any other game or game feature needing WiFi.
If people were able to access the underground it was likely through some sort of cheat, or perhaps they converted and moved their save to the their DS just for that part.

Let me repeat: you need cheats, no emu has working wifi emulation as of today. And I know that, because I've been on coding a DS emulator for quite a while.

I was the one using the underground with D & P, all i can say is it worked with the previous games and not this one. (maybe someone added something to the game to make it work) But I didn't have to do anything diffrent.

Which version of the emu were you using? Do you use a firmware and BIOS files as well?

The only think I can think of then is that you used a much older version of the emu with a patched version of the game...
And no there is no such patch for Platinum and it's inadvisable to reuse the former as the location of the WiFi check has probably changed...an who knows what effect the patch could have then...possibly a game breaking bug later on...also the patch now that no$gba has WiFi support causes saving problems (It works fine first, but then refuses to load (black screen)).

So it all comes back to there being no solution and no solution likely coming about any time soon if ever.

not sure what version i used sorry, was a while ago. As the firmware and bios i did down load anything but the game and the emu.

But your probably right about it being an older version and patched game..I may just have to see what an older verson of the emu does.(don't need the access long.) (& if it messes the game so be it)

ok lets get one thing straight.

Underground in Diamond and Pearl did not use wifi technology it used wireless technology only.

Platinum was upgraded so that the underground can be used with wifi and because of that it does not work because the emulator does not have wifi functionable yet.

Case closed.

Um no the underground in Diamond and Pearl was wireless connection only which means in order for you to see others you need to be within range and have another person with diamond and pearl in the underground as well... It did NOT have wifi capabilities which let you connect to the wifi network and let you see people across the world in the underground. That is why the emulator could load it in diamond and pearl. The reason why platinum it doesn't load is because it has WIFI connection aswell as wireless. So when you go underground it searches for a wifi connection but because the emulator doesn't function in that area yet... it doesn't work.

This is getting funny, so WIFI it's not wireless... Oh, hell, you're so clueless about what you're talking about. Better google about adhoc/infraestructure wifi transmission, any way, as far as emulators concerns, both modes don't work.
