I have a question about Pokémon Platinum for no$gba 2.6a.

I'm new to the boards, but I ran a search for my question and couldn't find anything useful. If someone already asked this, please don't ostracize me. I did try to find help on my own first.

My problem is with the cheat menu. I can open it and add new cheats, but if I try to activate one then the emulator crashes.

They used to work on my v2.6, but when I went back and tried them on that version, the same thing happened.

Can anyone explain why the cheats used to work but do not now? I can't get Renegade64 to work (the highest no$gba version it has is v2.4a, if that matters), and nothing I have seen on here to try works.

Thanks for your help!

Well, try using NO$Zoomer, and in the same folder as NO$Zoomer, put a file called "USRCHEAT.dat" (or something like that) and try using the cheats from the "USRCHEAT.dat".
You can find it here.

Well, try putting these cheats in the emu.
Steps:
1. Go to "Utility"->"Cheats"
2. Click in "Add new" and put your code (and put it as an Action Replay code).
3. Click "Ok" when you're done.
4. Activate the code. [V] means that the code is activated. :D

Platinum does not work well with AR-cheats. You can get all of your cheating needs through Pokesav, though.

I tried that Lex, but as soon as I click OK or Cancel, the emulator freezes up. That's just with the nocash cheat menu on its own. It used to work fine, and I haven't switched ROMs or anything else I can think of.

@Smiley: What is Pokesav?

EDIT: I just found Pokesav. I haven't checked if it works yet, but if it does then all I can say is, Where has this been all my life?!?

EDIT 2: Okay, I've been messing around with Pokésav for about 30-45 minutes, and I can't get it to work. Immediately I had a problem with the wrong file type, so I followed the instructions in Troubleshooting to solve that. But then when I made what were hopefully the correct changes (trying to add the Surfing Pikachu Event), I saved the file and tried to get no$gba to play it, and it said the .SAV file was corrupted. Luckily I have a backup save file.

This Pokésav thing looks legit, but I can't figure it out. Even if I could get it to work with my save files (which are 161KB as opposed to the necessary 256KB or 512KB for the Pokésav program), I am afraid that I will have to re-enter every single bit of information to make sure it stays consistent with my old save.

EDIT 3: It looks like I got it working. I found some answers elsewhere on the forums, so hopefully that'll work fine. Thanks for the help!
