[Cloud Strife]

Hello all

Im having troubles getting FF8 to work.
First my system specs: AMD Duron 850MHz, Creative: Riva TNT 2 Value (Model 64) 32mg, Creative Sound Blaster ViBRA, 192 mg RAM

I dont know If its my config, but I get it started up, I hit new game, Then the FMV of a beach comes up I hear the hum, Then it just freezes after about 5 secs of the FMV. My comp doesnt freeze just the game.
So please if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Ok weird...
I think maybe my cdrom stops reading.
Cause when I hit escape and click change disc then ok, it goes a bit further into the FMV and then stops againg.. hrm..

Oh im sorry for wasting your time if you looked at this thread. It was just a matter of fiddling around with the CD ROM plugins Im so happy, i get to play FF8, I hope I have no more problems lol

well im glad things turned out well in the end...i was just about to suggest the exact same thing.

I having a couple more problems, the character sprites are flickery, and when I go to a battle the part where it shows the HP and stuff flickers lots
Can anyone help?

I had the same prob with FF9. I think setting OffScreen-Drawing to anything lower than 4 should fix it.
