The daemon tools readme states that in order to play cd audio from the hard disk,I need to enable digital cd audio playback in the multimedia properties of the virtual cd(in this case, the G: drive). On trying to do so,I found that the option was grayed out for all drives.
On rechecking the readme,I found out that I need a WDM-compatible driver.Well,I couldn't find one(hence this post).
I have a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Platinum. What's weird is it 'does' support digital cd audio;it was able to read a normal audio cd digitally;I checked this using the volume properties.
Hope this is enough. Thanks for the time.

I don't really want to cut your fun off, but why do you want/need to play CD audio (I mean, .cda) from the hard disk? Perhaps it would be easier to rip the songs into MP3s...

Good point. The thing is that I want to play games from the hard disk and listen to their cd audio, that's all.
Seriously,I just like to fiddle around with stuff like this.

OMG!!! Your brining me back bad memories... :(
Once I used VCD, FCD, LCD, Daemon Tools and I ended up with 7 cd-roms....I couldnt even burn any cd's. So I cried for an hour and fixed it. :)
