So I recently re-bought Pharaoh with the expansion pack "Cleopatra - Queen of the Nile", since I lost the cds ages ago.
Problem is, being on a new installation of Windows, I don't have my save files (yes, I did complete the Pharaoh-campaign:p), and apparently I need to have completed the Pharaoh-campaign to start the Cleopatra-campaign.

Anyone know of a way to circumvent this, or do I need to cheat or play my way through the campaign again?

Im sure there would be a few save games floating around the internet up to that point, to circumvent this.

I'll just play through it again I guess. Cba messing around with other people's save files :p Better to be safe than sorry I guess. And I haven't played through it in a while, so it'll be "fun" playing through the lowbie missions again D:

One small issue though.
Every so often, the game just hangs up. At random times.
I haven't tried waiting very long (longest was about 1min), before I went to the explorer and forced it to shut down.
Quite annoying, and I've yet to determine the cause of it.
The auto save saves me quite a bit of trouble, seeing as those save files are still there even if I have to force the game to shut down.

So far I've been running it in compatibility mode for Windows 2000 (running Seven x64), since both without the compatibility mode and the XP SP3 compatibility mode gave me some "thunk" error (Googling it did not make me any wiser...)

Will be trying XP SP2 compatibility mode tomorrow, since apparently it doesn't cause that thunk error.

It requires Windows ME/98 compatibility. (fixes the map lag)

still doesn't fix the freezing though, just another DDraw freeze issue like the SC and Worms and AOE*

Try using Dxcpl to disable DDraw acceleration.

Can't use the ME/98 compatibility mode, it causes the error as well.
Unable to load function: FT_Thunk (KERNEL32.dll) - exact error message.

Compatibility modes it does start in:
Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) - No sound
Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1)
Windows Vista
Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)

Windows 95 and Windows ME/98 compatibility modes give me the thunk error.

And how do I do that? :p
Googling for "disable DDraw acceleration" didn't make me any wiser.

One search result gave me this:

However, my Dxdiag doesn't allow me to do it. It just says "enabled".

Been running 191.00 for some time now, gonna try update to 191.07.
Be back in a jiffy.

Keywords are important.

use a nocd. this is caused by the games protection.
