Anyone with high peformance computer (Like a 1.5gig Geforce 3 or something) can get epsxe running at full speed? With framebuffer option on so it emulates everything that the actual game have? Like the swirl screen in ff9, motion blur in Chrono Cross, etc...
Maybe also with 4x FSAA to make the game even look more better.

My computer is pretty decent(tbird gig) but the swirl effects and full vram primitives still run slower than full speed..... I don't know anyone who has gotten their comp to run epsxe full speed with full options turned on all the time.... I wonder if the people with a geforce3 and a high end processor can even get it to run full speed with all the graphics effects turned on?

hmmm...I thought ePSXe doesn't need a high requirement or a high monster class specs...Just a 400/500 with a GeForce and 64/128 mb sdram will do well enough to make you impressed already...;)

Using a p3 1 gig here with a gf2 gts 32 meg ocd @ 220/350 with 256 megs of ram and win2ksp2 and whatever tweaks I can find for it and I really haven't had any problems running at full speed in Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 9 and Legend of Dragoon (you know, interesting, it seems like most everyone who posts here plays rpgs) running at 800x600 as my monitor is crappy and would blind me with the low refresh rate at 1024x768 with 2x2 AA (opengl plug-in, opengl only allows 2x2 to the best of my knowledge but still looks spiffy!). If I was on a slower machine, I would definitely ditch the motion blur effects for anti-aliasing though, as it looks MUCH much better. Oh and using the 12.60 drivers (det 4).

My system does. Athlon T-Bird 1.2ghz, GEForce 2 GTS, Sound Blaster Live, Win 98, 128 megs of Corsair PC 133 memory and a 266 FSB speed. Pete's OGL GPU 1.50, Pete's midas 1.7, & Pete's CDRom plugin 1.5.

Ive got a Duel PIII 933, running Win98SE on VMWare on RedHat Linux 7 with 512MB of Ram and a VooDoo 3500 (I would LOVE!!!! to find a VooDoo 5.) And i run ePSXe with FF9 and almost all the options (Including Bilinear Filtering) and get almost perfect performance. Ive overclocked my VooDoo to 180Mhz. I think the almost comes from my vid card. usualy between 55-60FPS all the time. Only problem i have is on some of the battle effects that render very poorly (like a lot of missing textures and just general crap) that slows down to about 45-55 FPS. I REALY love me computer. :D

I'll get an Athlon 1.33GHz on tuesday(cool:D ),so I'll tell you all my results, cause I'll have a "decent:rolleyes: " system.
I'm hoping to run at full speed in 1280x1024 with 4xFSAA(Now that's hope, but i'm a crazy system tweaker,so I'll manage to do it).
I already run at full speed in certain games with those settings but it slows down a lot when much things are displayed(FF8 runs fast during exploration, but is damn slow in battles).

If you want to squeeze some more speed from the emulator, you might want to give DX 8.1 a try. Even though it is still a beta it is faster. If you do look for it, Raziel posted some links in one thread, be sure to get build 670. That is the one I am using. I have had no problems w/it at all. DX 8.1 plus my system gives me full speed in every game I play. My system is: Athlon T-Bird 1.2 ghz, GEForce 2 GTS 32 megs, Sound Blaster Live Value, Win 98 SE, 266 FSB, 128 megs of PC 133 Corsair memory and DX 8.1. Using Pete's OGL plugin vers. 1.51, Iori's SPU vers. 1.45(1), the internal CD Rom plugin, and the 7502 bios.

I already have it ;)
But i experienced some problems w/ win2k which forced me to lower my FSB to 100mhz for a while.(thx again cluthu)
I ve now a 550 mhz cpu :(
Guess that even dx8.1 cannot speed my system to the original performance heh ;) pretty normal tough.

Ah'll tell cha dat you cannot run all gamesssss at solid 60fps with FVP enabled on an athllllon 1.33. Games will either be too bloody fast(withdou FPS limiter) or sloooooowdown in some scenes(with FPS limiter).

PS. me doubtfully doubt that epsxe plays tekken3 and smackdown2 at the right speed.

yeah, tekken 3 sometimes runs slower than normal even though the framerate says 60fps all the time.... No matter what settings I set...Its a speed limit and timing problem.... Same goes for FF7... The speed of the music is slower than normal at 60 fps.... I have to set the framerate to 70 fps to hear normal speed music in it.. another game with framerate timing problems is MGS... Petes d3d and ogl pluggins does fix it though......
