I can't believe how near-perfection these games run on my ePSXe setup:
Gran Turismo
Soul Reaver (!)
Spyro
Spyro 3
Castlevania SOTN
I have a Dell P4 with a GeForce2 MX. I use my Samsung CD-RW to read the PSX CDs. I have a Gravis Eliminator Aftershock with dead zone set to min and sensitivity near max. Here's the emu setup:
7502 Bios
Pete's OpenGL 1.50 Video
Pete's DSound 1.10 Audio
ePSXe CDR ASPI core 1.4.0
I get spot-on frame rate, audio FX, music, speech, movies and analog control (except Castlevania, of course). This at 1024x768 16-bit. Soul Reaver's performance made me jump up and cheer!
I have been trying to get the awesome speech in that game to reproduce correctly for months. The slight freeze whenever the CD drive has to spin back up (something a real PSX never has to do) in this streaming game was cured by making an ISO.
Anyway, I went on longer than I intended. My reason for posting is a big, loud THANK YOU to the awesome ePSXe team and plugin authors. Great work--better than I thought possible. You rock!
