I'm a brazilian, so portuguese is my native language. But I haven't played Grandia 2, though.

If you can post it here or provide any links then I'll be glad to help :)

It's the singing I am refering to, and isn't there a difference between Portuguese Portuguese and Brazilian Portugues?

Anyway I just read it's based on Portugues so I'm not sure if it's acctually understandable or not

The differences between Brazilian portuguese and the Portuguese portuguese are not that great (one can easily understand the other).

But do you know whatever is spoken in this singing that you're talking about?

EDIT: I googled for it, and came up with the lyrics for 2 songs. The english translation is already included (although I'd change it a bit... it's not 100% accurate).

And FYI, it is really written in portuguese.

I see, I thought so :) Guess you need to listen better next time Neojag :D

Thanx Boltzman, even though that translation was kind of awful, I guess it made me realise it doesn't reveal any secrets about the story or anything :|

LOL, well In that case I guess they didn't put too much weight into it, because they realised most of the people playing the game wouldn't understand it anyhow :D

They probably chose to write the song in Portuguese (or use a pre-existing Portuguese song; Metalmurphy made a good suggestion) because they expected few Portuguese-speaking players.

But Portuguese is not so obscure. There’re other less known languages out there.

I played the game and have no clue where that song plays. :p I wonder if it´s present in the PC version?

One of them is Elena's song IIRC.
The other one I don't remember since it's been some time since I've played it.

It's in the PC version for sure, the other one is Mareg and the beastmen singing ( yes I know it appears a little strange that they can sing soft like that :D, I guess they have many different octave voices )
