I tried to get PEC 2.5 to work with the game legend of the dragoon for the ePSXe v 1.6 & 1.7.

I have also looked up the gameshark codes for the game and put them into the user database section and still i cannot get any cheats to work with the game.

They transfer in, since it says transfering while clicking send cheats to plugin so i know they are being sent.

When the game comes up when starting ePSXe it shows "sony computer entertainment - Europe presents" then the game follows. I am not sure if this means that the ISO version of the game is European and the game shark codes only work for a non Europe version?

I have also swapped bios from SCPH1001.BIN to scph7502.bin to see if that made any difference and it didn't.The game runs well but i cannot figure out how to get any cheats to work for it using the ePSXe emulator and PEC as the cheat tool, anyone have an idea as to what the issue is?

some codes when i send for Legends Of The Dragoon cause ePSXe to bring up a window with "error running ePSXe" window which states
"SPEC opcode 3f UNK (PC 00000068)(0000005c) (27933,0)" or "SPEC opcode 3f UNK (PC 00000068)(0000005c) (2485,0)"

(I am able to use PEC for monster rancher 2 and the cheats work for that game when i used the user database and entered the gameshark codes i found for it, but i cannot get any cheats to work for the L.O.D.)

The opcode error comes from an area of the memory being written to that shouldn't have been written to. While gameshark codes are okay for the most part, remember that you are playing on a computer and that using programs like Cheat Engine or Artmoney will give you greater cheating versatility. As long as you can figure the programs out well enough you won't have to worry about finding the right codes for the right version.

On a more important note, I'm hoping that you own two Playstations to go along with those two BIOS. ngemu does not tolerate illegal activity of any kind - not only do we want the emulation community to have a good reputation, we don't want the site shut down. My copy aslo says Europe on it as I couldn't find the game anywhere but ebay, so you get a pass on that (with me anyway).

Yo, In the beginning of the game you start off in the village, MAKE SURE YOU DONT USE THE PEC IN THE VILLAGE. BECAUSE it can only work in the world map, if you use it in the village, the result is being stuck on top of the cliff at the end of the village. After killing the boss and going out to find Shana at HELENA, You start at the entrance of the Village (World Map), Then you can use PEC and it works perfectly fine here on out.

I Gurantee it works ^^

The codes are more than likely not compatible with the game alone if it works for others. I had some of the same problems with Legend of Dragoon and PEC myself but instead of errors popping up the codes just didn't take any effect at all and without warning - not even did I get a black screen. The game just ran normally and ignored the codes.

I believe I was playing a NTSC-U game with a European or PAL bios. It's a miracle the game itself even worked at all.

I downloaded a Legend of Dragoon patch because the game is protected and the game works ALOT better - not exactly perfect by any stretch, but much better patched and a US traditional bios....the codes on the otherhand will probably never work or atleast the ones who aren't genuine. Theres a reason why you can barely find any.

I have a similar error when I try to use the StarDust cheats. They will load but when I go to check my inventory.... the game freezes. Every other code like the max stats and such work perfectly fine. Even all of the armed cheats work perfectly fine but the stardust codes do not work.

1 hit kill works perfectly fine but some cheats get deactivated such as the no random battles. I have to activate the cheats again for them to work. But the stardust code does not work. (I have a PS3. And I own the game so there shouldn't be a problem with that right? Even so I own a PS1... Its just not modded.)

But yeah I can't seem to get the stardust codes to work... It just freezes the game when I activate the code.

I will have to try it in the world map here in a sec see if it works....

(Checking it now...)

Nope it still freezes... GHAD DEMMIT! I want it to work but it just won't!

ARGH!

Oh well just don't use the stardust cheat. That error is the same error I get as well.

This one: SPEC opcode 3f UNK (PC 00000068)(0000005c) (27933,0)

But you said you have the european version of the game? I had a hard time trying to rip this game and it makes me mad that not only do I have to start all over again but I wish these codes would work because searching for the stardust stinks! I know there is guides but still... It is such a hassle!

try another emu, maybe it crashes less or try the cheats on a real ps1, it can make a difference... you got remember these were designed to be used on a real ps1 with real action replay hardware so it is no suprise that some codes dont work... if you cant accept it then dont play the game and move onto another game

Initially I had the freezing thing happening but re-installed the latest expse and no freezing now and none of the codes appear to be working... So I will try starting the codes when I am finished in the village.. although it seems to me in earlier versions of expse that you could use them at the beginning.... anyhow thanks for the tips...
