Well, I didn`t really want to post a new thread, but seeing as arab`s page isn`t updated with my translation (or any other translation for that matter), I thought I`d make a thread about translation updates, and as a start I`ll put my romanian translation update (well, not actually an update since my translation arrived a little to late for shadow to notice it -long story- so this is the translation I made then, not an update).
Feel free to post any other translation updates here as well.
For the updates to work, you should just replace the pcsx2.mo file that`s in *pcsx2 root directory*\Langs\*your language initials*_*your language initials*\LC_MESSAGES (eg: in my case C:\Games\Pcsx2\Langs\ro_RO\LC_MESSAGES).
For my translation to work just extract the contents of the archive directly in the \Langs directory of pcsx2.
Also, I made a poll to see if this thread is any usefull, or if I should just let it die.
Will update my translation soon ^_^.
Edit: It seems I have a problem with attaching the translation because I made 2 almost identicall threads by mistake (pressed post thread, then back, changed something, then post thread again, thus probably resulting in that) and now it says that I had already attached that thread in my previous (and deleted) thread even if I rename it. I will try to make it work somehow.
Edit 2: Made it work. Had to compress it into a .zip archive so that it won`t be recognised as the same file (even thought it`s not the same as I deleted the previous one along with my thread).

Portuguese translation update

i liked the idea.. but i think it could cause some problems, like ppl fighting oO to post the translation of an specified language.. but maybe we should give it a try..

I'm the guy who translated the first version to portuguese, so i'm posting here a fixed version.. i think there's no more problems now.. :thumb:

Hey I have also a translation for Baske language, that isn't included in the oficial version.
But I don't know why I can't convert it to .mo file. oO

I know why it doesn`t convert to a .mo file : you translated the msgid strings instead of the msgstr strings. Let me explain how it works : the msgid is the id of the message meaning that when pcsx2 pops up an error message it will first be in English, and if you have another language activated, pcsx2 will search for the msgid to know what error measge appeared and replace it with the msgstr. Since you translated the msgid, the file is recognised as untranslated and therefore will not convert (it wouldn`t work in pcsx2 cause it wouldn`t have found the message`s id to translate since you changed it).Read linuzzapps help file that came with the .po file to find out more. I recommend you translated it again leaving the msgid intact and writing the translation in the msgstr field, or if this is to complicated, use poedit since it`s more user friendly and less complicated.
Sorry about those who downloaded my translation, I forgot to include something in the archive so that it won`t appear as pcsx2.mo at the language menu ^_^'. It`s fixed now.
Edit: If you want, I can fix your translation TWave (just need to copy what you wrote in msgid to msgstr, and then copy the msgid back).

Hmm... I was told that someone else was doing Finnish translation, but as at least I haven't heard anything from it I might as well release my translation. (If anyone Finnish happens to read this )

But I think than the PCSX2 developers should do a new .po file than works with the new version, otherwise it will be "double job", translate the 0.8.1 one and again the 0.9 file? I guess than in this time it's not-so-useful:zzz:
