Hello there,

as said in the title, I've got a little problem concerning the cdvd plugin. Besides that, the emulator seems to be configured correctly, because I have no problems in booting the bios with the CD/DVDnull plugin and doing some settings there. But when I use P.E.Op.S. plugin, no matter whether a PS2-DVD is inserted or not, the emu crashes (but is still visible in the task manager), and about 10 seconds later windows hangs. Only a hard reset helps then. The really strange thing, however, is that the bios is loading properly when a normal non-PSX CD is inserted.
My settings for the plugin can be seen here:

I also tried a few other settings, for example for the caching mode, but it had no effect.

Anyway, I'm thankful for every answer. And please forgive me if I made some writing mistakes, though I would be glad if you could correct them (I'm a german student, you know..).

Oh yes, my system:
Windows 2000 with SP4
Athlon XP 2400+
MSI KT3 Ultra 2 (KT333 Mainboard)
1GB DDR-RAM
Radeon 9800 Pro
and, probably most important, a SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SM-352B (CD/DVD combo drive)

Do you have Force ASPI installed?? I had the same Problem back with ePSXe crashing without thant installed.

Give it a try, maybe it works.

And is it working with an Image of the Game??
You mean ForceASPI 1.7 and 1.8 respectively? Didn't work for me, sry :(

I didn't try to make an image yet, because my free diskspace is low. But perhaps I'll try it with a game which isn't very large.
Could you advise me a program I should use for that?

I tried both versions, 1.1 and 1.2, but none of them worked.

And I made an image of game and ran it with CDVDbin driver. It started without any problems. So I suggest it must have to do something with my drive/ASPI drivers/whatever.

Though my DVD drive reads DVDs, I'm not sure if it reads everything correctly or if there may be another problem with it. Unfortunately I have no other drive here to test if the Samsung is the problem.

And as I said, the strange thing is that the emu (and windows!) crashes even when no DVD is inserted. What may that mean?

Well, now I think there really is a problem concerning my DVD drive. As I wanted to make an image of my Virtua Fighter 4 DVD using Alcohol 52% (the demo version), my system reacted similar to what happens when I try to start the emu with P.E.Op.S.' plugin: The image was not made, and when I tried to abort the operation the program crashed and my drive wasn't able to eject the DVD anymore until I reset windows.
That is, however, not with every DVD..

Same Problem here

I also tried the plugin this morning and the emu crashed. I had to reset my PC to stop the pcsx2-process. I have an Aopen(16x) DVD drive. If you ask me, the problem has nothing to do with the type of my drive, age or which firm it is from. I could probably use any DVD-drive and get the same result every-time. While using PCSX2 Draft Driver 0.64 everything was just fine. Problems first appeared when i tested pcsx2 with the new peops 1.2 dvd plugin, seems to me as if it is not fully compatible or contains an annoying bug.

Good to know :) Could you link this Draft Driver?

btw, I've got the same problem with v1.1. So either my problem is another than yours, or the problem occurs with both versions.
