I can run FFX at a steady 90%+ with my Athlon 64 3000+ and GeForce 6600GT. Internal resolution is comparable to my monitor's native resolution of 1440x900.

Configuration of your operating system, video card driver software, and the program itself are all very important factors in getting the most out of your games. You should be able to run the emulator fairly well with your system, so try it out and let us know how it goes!

yeah but you are using frame skip and possibly vu frame skip. Frame skip alone introduces annoying stuttering and audio anomalies into the game and itsn't all to enjoyable. Plus you have every hack enabled and likely EE cycle rate multipliers which also introduce instability in a number of games at lower levels and immense instability at higher x3.

FFX one is the least graphic intensive of the blockbuster 3D ps2 games. You'd always bottleneck your videocard at 1440x900 on the more graphic intensive games.

Even with that I believe you are exaggerating your fps achievements on that single core system of yours. Actually I'm pretty positive.
Frame skip of any kind is nothing but a nuisance for that game, so I have it turned off entirely.

You are correct in assuming I have every speed hack enabled including the cycle rate, but as of yet I have run across no instability (not to say it won't happen at some point in the game), and my frames are not at all exaggerated. FFX simply doesn't demand a dual core system, though I can hardly say the same about FFXII which I'm unable to have running at a solid 30fps.
