I find people´s way of controlling children, and deciding everything for them is getting out of hand sometimes. Especially when it comes to games. You already learn from a young age that things like that aren´t real. When you have grown up in the 8-bit era, those things are easier to understand. But when games have more and more realistic graphics, then naturally it becomes harder. I for one, never had a problem distinguishing between reality and fantasy. I love my family, i love people in general, and i have played GTA since i was in my early teens. I played my first video game when i was 2. I have the intelligence of a 40 year old (Which really doesn´t say much, since we don´t use more brain capacity at 40 as we do when we are 4, people only use a few percent of their brain in total their entire life).

Either way, i am regarded as a fairly smart fellow. I am not violent by nature. I threat everyone i meet good. I hate injustice, and i don´t hesitate to defend anyone being bullied. Not by violence, but by words. People should try that, it is very effective. My point by saying all of this is...I have played games my entire life. I have played about ALL the games that are supposed to be bad for kids, as a kid, and so have my two brothers. None of us is violent. We are not isolated inside our homes playing games all the time, regardless of us playing games since the diaper age.

So i can safely say that what they say about games having a bad influence on children is absolute crap. Do you want to know what has the absolute worst influence on children? PARENTS. It is the truth. If you have bad parents, who fails to teach you about life, who fails to teach you to distinguish between reality and fiction, who fails to teach you AT ALL, and leave all that to the school, THEN things will get ugly. Parents have a responsibility in all this too, but they have to be fair, they have to stop being such diapersniffers. Let the children LIVE.

Stop blaming games for your own mistakes. Games doesn´t do ANYTHING to kids. People do.

And also, if people who have committed crimes blames it on video games, there are a few possibilities: They have (Very likely) a problem. They can´t distinguish between reality and fiction, as i stated earlier there. That is either the parents fault, because they haven´t been PARENTING. Or, there is something wrong in their head. The parents have to take some responsibility here as well. They can have some sort of psychological problems that causes them to do these things, because they saw it in a game. Not the game´s fault, the psychological issues is to blame there. There is also yet another possibility: He uses the game as a scapegoat, so he (It is normally a he when it comes to these incidents, it is not to be sexist) blames the game, possibly to be declared insane, and get a shorter term.

It helps if you use LOGIC sometimes, instead of blatantly blaming it on a freaking GAME. I don´t care much for what any of you have to say further about this. I have said mine, i´ll leave the rest to you. I have better things to do with my time. What i have written i have written. Eat this sweetish segment or spit it out, you are free.

So what's your definition of bullying? and what is this "good" bullying you mention that is necessary? Beating up a kid? Breaking bones? Verbal, mental, emotional harassment? How did you bully kids, how do you justify you doing it, because it was done to you?

I've searched this entire thread looking for the part where I said bullying was good but couldn't find it. Oh right, thats cuz I never did.

Never said it was really necessary either, just said that despite the pain it brings, it brings a good outcome in better preparing the kid for his adult life. People try to take advantage of each other. It's sad but it happens. whether it be in the workplace, a relationship etc, some people are pricks and will try to take advantage of you. Having a kid learn to stand up for himself at an early age helps prevent him from being a doormat at a later one.

Funny how you've taken that out of context so far into claiming that I endorse not just bullying but child molestation and school shootings too.

Bullying doesn't consist of broken bones or any real injury. Schoolyard fighting is normal, fighting to the point where a kid seriously hurts another one is not. That is way above and beyond bullying. (and also not depicted in the game) The Majority of bullying that takes place never reaches physical levels, yet, from personal experience verbal bullying is very painful. Once you start standing up for yourself though, it all goes away.

I don't justify bullying other kids when I was a kid. I did a lot of stupid (and hurtful) things as a kid. I don't justify the 3 or 4 windows I broke with baseballs either.

Bullying can become violent and some victims can't stand up for themselves. I watched a kid who bullied me as a child grow up to be a criminal who mugged senior citizens. I'm glad you're an expert on bullying and know it never escalates. I have a girlfriend who's back was nearly broken by a bully in school, so I know you're sadly mistaken. I was disabled from birth, one good punch to the heart when I was young might have killed me, so please don't tell me that bullying can't seriously hurt you.

OK now, what's it about the violence factor which apparently makes this game so bad? I know there might be some mentally retarded people out there who might let this game effect their real school life, but not me. I attend high school too, and this game has had ABSOLUTELY NO effect whatsoever on my behavior at school. It hasn't given me ANY incentive for violence or other malicious acts. My behavior is exactly the same as it used to be.

It's a game, it's a game meant for people who have just left school and older who want relive their school life in a humerous way. Honestly is this game would have been called School Life instead of Bully there would be much less of a problem.
I am fat, I am bloody huge, I know all about being victimised and being bullied, on some days I felt just like those people who kill their entire class before shooting themselves, I myself fantasised giving them some of their own medicine, possibly blowing their brains out like those cases that cause all the ruckus about games like this, but I never did and I never will. And after all this I have no problem with such a game, hell this does not even sound half as bad as GTA, it sounds like great fun and I want a go although I somehow feel the review might be a little biased and I personally hate escort/protection missions.

There's only 1 or 2 small tasks in the story-line in which you have to escort someone (and it's usually nerds who can't fight for themselves :lol. Other then that, escort tasks are only errands which are purely optional and barely take 1 minute. And since little effort goes into it, the reward is also minimal, like a buck or 2 of cash

Gamefreak, Rule #2 to a good review is no spoilers (Rule #1 is No Bias), giving background is all well and good, saying more stuff will be unlocked later, but telling you your best friend betrays you at the end and makes your life a living hell is entirely another.

One thing I am curious about though, other than the weapons obviously not being as brutal, is the battle/fighting/gameplay the same as GTA? Because the punching part would be better on a redone hack and slash engine in my opinion...or does it fell ok and not annoying?

Somewhat different from GTA fighting style I'd say. You'll mostly be using your super slingshot throughout the game, but when it comes to close range combat, you can punch someone, kick them when they fall down, humiliate them once their health is low enough, and there are also plenty of other fighting moves (6 to be exact) like sweep kick and under-cut, which you'll get taught by someone in the school once you do their bidding (this is again, a side-line task but one which greatly improves your combat effectiveness on main missions and its fun doing moves too ). And another thing is, that your enemy doesn't actually 'die' after their health becomes zero, they'll just lie on the floor squealing in pain with their hands between their feet lol There's also the grapple feature which allows you to push other people, you can even stuff them into garbage cans or lockers for the lulz

Just saying that good things/people cant exist in the world without bad ones, just as much as bad things/people can't exist without good ones. Peace can't exist without war, love can't exist without rejection, and the bad things make you appreciate the good ones.

I agree a lot with that, I avoided bullying as a child (not all though) and it's causing problems for me as an adult.

I think a lot of these complaints are cultural differences also, that's just the way things can be in America. Though I assume this game may over exaggerate quite a bit in the usual Rockstar fashion since I haven't played it.

Anyone in America that didn't experience bullying at all.... wow weren't you privileged.
