I am glad I didn't buy this, I tried this in a friends house, the slowdowns, motion blur, mouse lag, huge muzzle flash and a lack of a lock on feature made it impossible to use guns the graphics look like **** the fact that it used securom7 which needed me to disable all my virtual drives didn't help either

its reviews weren't bad, but anything with keanu on the cover is asking for trouble.

Ok, this was one of the worst ports of all time. There are positives and negatives. Here is some things I want to say about the PC port that I beat tonight:

~~~BAD~~~
1) It was very ugly at times when they overplayed real life photographs of neo over the drawn model. It could have worked out great if they weren’t crappy, ps2 level textures.
2) Bugs, lots of Bugs. Mainly texture/shadow bugs. When ever the game tried to overlay the textures on neo or any other character when you walked around you would become an iPod commercial, just a black shadow kicking ass.
3) Bugs on the walls. The walls and ground would suddenly turn either pure white or pure yellow, for no reason at all.
4) Graphics settings. This pissed me off, only 3 settings. Brightness, "detail level", and res. Detail level pissed me off. I instinctively turned it to its max setting of 10 before I ran the game for the first time. The game neither prompted me nor warned me that settings 9-10 used pixel shader 3.0 and that I was unable to run that on my 9800pro. So after lowing it to 8 it worked.
~~~GOOD~~~
1) SUPER FUN, you have no idea how satisfying it is to take out guys in style, which leads me to the next good point...
2) Kung-Fu. The fighting is awesome when you string together long combos with multiple enemies finishing them off by slamming their face into the ground.
3) Slow-motion. When the game slows down at the right time, and I at the correct time because it slows down a lot, it looks amazing.
4) ummmm fun??

Anymore comments from u guys?

Well, which version should I buy? PS2 or PC? Mind you, I got SM 3.0 so I can go for max details on PC.

I'd have to say PS2 in the long run as it will cause you the least frustration. But I would still expect to see some of the same graphical bugs in the PS2 version.

Whoaa!!!.........Is it that bad ?

I'am planning to get it tomorrow (Pc version) after review of Xbox version is not so bad.

Buti if the main problem came from system port, maybe I better get Xbox version (hoping that gameplay itself is Ok like IGN said).

The game needs some tinkering to get good performance. The developers say that if you do not meet the recommended system requirements.

Recommended System Requirements
-------------------------------

Operating System Windows® 2000 / XP
Processor Pentium® 4 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 3200+ or higher
Memory 1 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space 6 GB free
DVD-ROM Drive 6X speed or faster
Video NVIDIA® GeForce™ 6800GT or ATI Radeon® X800 PRO or greater*
Sound DirectX® version 9.0c-compatible sound card
DirectX® DirectX® version 9.0c (included) or higher
800x600 resolution will provide the best performance on most hardware. Screen resolution has the greatest impact on Path of Neo's performance, so first try setting the screen size to 800x600.

You should also try editing the file “MatrixConfig.INI” it has some extra options not available in the in game menu. It is also the only way to enable Creative Labs EAX sound processing.

here is a sample

RENDERING]

;Setting 1 thru 4 Shader model 1.x being used
;Setting 5 thru 8 Shader model 2.x being used
;Setting 9 and 10 Shader model 3.x being used

;anamorphic video, 10=1280x768, 11=1920x1200, 12=1680x1050
RESOLUTION =10

[CONTROLS]

MOUSE_SENSITIVITY=6

[PATHS]
; INCOMING NAME HAS A FULLY FORMED PATH, THEN RETURN DIRECTLY
; NAME THEN PREPENDS DEFAULT_DATA TO CHECK LOCALLY
; NAME FINALLY PREPENDS PRIMARY_DATA TO CHECK DVD

;PRIMARY_DATA=C:\usr\local\Shared\Matrix_W32_Sample\common\

I'm not sure what all of that does but with it you can do more with the game.

If you have the US version of the game you may want to use this update patch. (I'm not sure if it will work for me.)
