The Pariah Multiplayer Demo is released today. (Check out FilePlanet and 3DGamers)

This demo consist of only online maps, there's no single player mode in the game which is disappointing.

There three modes of play: Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Assault. I only gave Assault a try.

When you start playing the game there are some "flaws".

-You can only carry two weapons from a list. This is disappointing if you like using different weapons.

-There's only one vehicle in the assault match. In order to drive it you have to be on the driver side. If you are on the other side, you hop into the passager side.

This can be a problem in the heat of the battle. If you want to drive the vehicle you can easily end up in the wrong side. Then you have to jump out from the car walk around to the drive's side and then start up the car. By the time you do all this, you're going be dead.

-The objectives of assault was confusing because there was no directions on want to do like UT 2004.

-Strangely you can only try out this demo for 999 days. This is the first time I have seen a demo with a time limit on it.

The graphics look awful without a graphic card that has pixel shader capabilities. ( I only have a Geforce 2 MX card! :( )

999 days? Kinda odd.. who keeps a demo for that long anyway? oO

Here's some shots @ 1024x768 on my 9800 Pro, all highest settings. :)

Didn't really like the demo much.. seemed a bit too closed up.. just felt really out of whack.. graphics were pretty nice and the framerate was very smooth, however. It is only a demo, though. Hopefully things will be more polished at release time. :) Will post some more shots later on, with some FSAA/Aniso.

As far as the PS limitation goes.. I doubt it. More and more games are requiring at least PS 1.1 to run at all.

i got a strong halo remake vibe from this game, seems to me the demo had nothing special about it. though graphics were pretty good, but demo did not show off the havoc engine at all.

Agreed.. my brother walked in my room and asked me if I was playing Halo.. honestly. :D

There's no way to show off Havok better than HL2, mind you. :p

Some shots. I noticed FSAA doesn't work with the game, although 16xQuality Anisotropic Filtering is working fine.. looks pretty good anyhow. Not great, but good.. easily outmatched by HL2 or Far Cry.

I'm very disappointed. I'm a huge UT fan and was hoping for a saving grace. This was not what I was expecting. The graphics seems off and very buggy, the gameplay is nonexistant. Assault, was running around with your head caught off and mostly consisted of capturing bases.

Digital Extremes really let me down on this one so far.

Now, this is a demo..and i'll give it that. Plus, the single-player is where it should shine so here's to hoping.

The game is somewhat fun, but the resolution is awful.. while playing it, I could definitely feel that it's a port of the Xbox version :nono: . Almost like the feeling I got when I first played the PC demo of Deus Ex 2. :(
