How come in chrono cross the speed gain is tremendous, when using -p 9 (any number) out of battle but gets so choppy in battle.

The reason it gets so choppy in battle is because there is a lot of stuff going on. There are bluring effects on most attacks and magic, and if your not using a software plugin it's gonna take a lot of power to do all the effects at the proper speed. If the battles are too slow and choppy, use VGS it runs near perfect with no slowdown and all the fancy effects, but the 3D isn't as good. It's your choice speed or graphics.....
