I need help creating a OS Recovery Cd for my new Dell 700m. I would use Dell's OS Recovery CD or Original Windows Xp Pro but they never included it.(those cheap *****) I wanted to know the best way because i want the option to return my computer OS to factor settings. Thanks for anyone who can help me.

you can find a hdd imaging program and make an image of a OS install and burn it to a dvd

a program like Norton Ghost, but its not free.

Then call up Dell and ask for one.

The other option is to create an image of your OS system. I recommend Acronis TrueImage.

Im not sure about dell but sometimes companies allow you to download a full recovery cd, all you have to do is use your cd-key for windows stuck somewhere on your computer.

Well i found my problem on one of Dell forums. It said sometimes the OS Recovery Cd Utility doesnt popup on start up. So i reset my laptop another time and got it. So now i got a OS Recovery Cd. Thanks for everyone for the help and I'll use this information about Norton Ghost and Acronis TrueImage for my home desktop computer.
