Whoa. I see this thread is 6 days old but I just have to add my 2 cents.
DON'T wash your face too often. If you're always washing it and drying out your skin with soap and alcohol (often in toners), your skin will compensate for the overydrying and produce even more oil (if you have oily skin). If your skin isn't very oily, washing your face too often will only dry it out and cause more irritation. The best solution is to wash your face twice a day, when you get up in the morning and before you go to bed at night. Try to find products that work with your skin type.
Popping zits isn't a good idea. It's a great way to cause scarring.
Be sure to drink lots of water. It will hydrate your skin to keep it healthy and firm.
Eat foods with lots of antioxidants, great for fighting acne inside your body. Topical medication is only effective on the skin's surface. Antioxidants will help keep your skin clear as it grows and repairs itself. Great foods for this include cantaloupe, broccoli, or spinach. Brightly or richly colored fruits and veggies often signify a good source of antioxidants. Tea is also a great source.
Exercise and eat right! Your skin is the largest organ of your body *insert penis joke here* and needs exercise and nutrients to look and act its best.
If you find some foods seem to cause acne, then avoid them or take them lightly.
And lastly, avoid high stress. Stress often causes certain hormone levels to elevate, which in turn can lead to acne.

Ah yes, one more thing. Even if you have oily skin you should consider using a light moisturizer. Overdrying your skin with topical acne medications and soap will only cause it to produce more oil to compensate, as I mentioned before. Using a light moisturizer will help your skin cut down on the amount of oil it produces in order to keep itself moisturized and pliable.
