In the past 2 days my HD's Raw Read Error Rate and Hardware ECC Recovered both dropped from 66 to 62 (while the "Worst" value is 59 and 58)... is this something to be worried about? (the S.M.A.R.T. values are from SpeedFan 4.20)

well as long as your HD does not crash frequently, encounter start up and shut down errors and have bad sectors in it... it will be fine...

I guess you have partitioned that HD right? so that even if one partition is corrupted, files from the other partition will still be ok...

That's cool... I was afraid it will just die like my IBM HD :lol:
It died 3 times in less than 2 years... first 2 times was fixed using IBM's disk fitness tool (but all data gone! :rant: ) and the 3rd time is unfixable (at least I can't lose my data for the 4th time). $99 dollar for this crap :???:
