hello all thanks for patience in advance i hope>.<

well heres the deal i'm new to the dolphin emulator, i have downloaded it and tried it out and it works :p yay!

but it runs hideously slow :( like 12 fps ...
i know my pc is a bit dated but being a total noob to dolphin i dont know if it's just my system holding me back or if i could potentially change some setting and get somthing a little better going on

i don't know if i need to try to overclock my proccesor (which i have had no luck doing so far, because of noobyness >.<) or buy more memory or if i should just buy a new pc all together my system specs are in my siggy

basicly need to know:

1: if there are settings on the emulator i can change to get better frame rate

2: where my money would be best spent to upgrade/replace my pc

3: maybe a link to a overclocking tutorial

thanks alot !

P.S. i know these same questions pop up on here all the time and i have looked thru the faqs and searched for these topics but i couldn't find anything that specifically addressed all my questions

I think as for Hardware upgrades, I would recommend a more up to date graphics card. As for Dolphin settings, check you have dual core and Idle skipping enabled, also you can use the faster Direct3D graphic plugin rather than OpenGL

Athlons are not great overclockers but a simple tutorial on overclocking Athlons is here: Athlon 64 Overclocking | Hardware Secrets

i just dont wanna lets say upgrade the video card then the proccesor holds me back, or the memory either for that matter been lookin at a rig at best buy with ridiculous specs... tax refund season comming soon... seriously considering it but if i could get my current pc playing the latest games and running pcsx2 and xbox emulator for a few hundred bucks i'd rather go that way truth is i just dunno what to do i havent priced anything as far as video cards, memory or processors and to be honest i really ain't learned enough about the hardware to be messin around in my case too much so i just dont know what i wanna do yet tbh :(

HP - Pavilion Elite Desktop with Intel® Core™ i7 Processor
Model: e9270f | SKU: 9555723

Intel® Core™ i7-860 processor; 8GB DDR3 SDRAM; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW drive and Blu-ray Disc player; LightScribe technology; 1TB hard drive; wireless LAN; Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit8888888

i dont see the one i was lookin at at the store but it was somthing like this (i picked this one off the best buy site around 1200$)

i paid around 600 for the pc i have now like 3 years ago and its about time to re-up i say i know its not too risky to work on em but it would really hurt my feelings if i spent a few hundred buck then freid my pc i'd rather get a new one then monkey with the old one when it doesnt put me without a pc if it fries

tried the other graphic plugin it didnt seem to make much diference no big deal tbh i didnt really expect metroid prime to play at full speed it did go up to around 30fps and near 50% speed but in large areas it bogs down to a crawl like 25-30% 10-15fps its playable but barley

when i got it it played almost anything and has slowly went downhill as games got more demanding lookin to spend 800-1200 bucks where should i be looking or should i just invest in upgrading this thing>? (have really gotten off topic lmfao)
