For the error, check out suggestions in the thread and, if necessary, JAZ's suggested thread in that thread. For the sound, you probably want a different SPU, considering Null's is old and not the best one for FF9, and you need to have Enable SPU IRQ hack not checked in the config sound screen (have it on only in the actual SPU).

Thanks! I found where the error occurs, some plugin cannot play sound after the user press [ESC] or return to desktop.

But anyway what is the best sound plugins for FF9?

Andy's SPU Audio Driver 0.16 <- Sound delay not right
ePSXe SPU core 1.4.0. <- Movie no sound after load state
Iori's DirectSound Driver 1.4 <- Sounds not right
Null2's Audio Driver 1.3 <- Best of these but very slow on changing the menu in FF9
Pete's DSound Audio Driver 1.11 <- Works fine but some sound effecfs in FF9 is not right
