I have had this problem since epsxe was first released and I still have the problem to this day. I can't run any games at all...

Voodoo 3 2000 AGP
Windows 98

I have tried everything I can possibly do just with epsxe's configuration... I have to use my cdr drive to play games because my cd drive is messed up, but even with all the cdr plugins I can't get the game to work. I can get the bios to run but no games... help!! I also have the last drivers available for Voodoo3...

disable or enable DMA on your cd rom drives... then try epsxe.... Some cd rom drives just can't read psx or burned games.. Maybe you can also upgrade the firmware on your drives... You can also try to play from an iso....

I have turned DMA on and off in the past and I know my cdr drive can read PSX discs because I can use VGS... I don't mind using VGS, but when running mdecs (especially in the Final Fantasy Series) when polygons are layered on top of the mdec, the polygons won't show up... maybe it's just me because I've never seen anyone complain about this before... for an example, in the fmv in ff7 where cloud looks up and sees a shinra tower (right in the beginning of the game) you won't see cloud...
