Someone compiled PointSpreites in Debug and Release mode, and when I try emulation, both don't work. I've tried patching it to run in debug mode (Edit->Patch->Debug).

Now, I used Camtasia to capture the Kernel Debug Console as it started. I get all the Emu outputs, and I get these EmuD3D8 outputs:
-Timing thread is running.
-CreateDevice proxy thread is running.
-Message-Pump thread is running.
-CreateDevice proxy thread received request.

Then a window is created, with a black background, and then it exits the emulation.

Is there something I need to do to make it work, or will it simply not work for me?

On rare occasions, Cxbx will do that. For what reason is unknown :( By the way, what XDK version are you using? It makes a big difference. If you are using 5558 or 5849, then the problem is that your XDK is not fully supported. You will have best results with a 4627 for a 4361. :)

And the only demo that works is the Tiger demo in the tutorial sections.
