This comment was just spam and we have enough "wouldn't it be great if" threads going around. The devs appreciate the support... but these comments need not be passed actively :).
...is a "thank you" letter to devs for their hard work. I guess... :)
I mostly saw a "omg lol wtf i wanna play my game with the new pcsx2"....
and was impressed by the incredible progress of pcsx2. I would atleast take it as a compliment after all those "where iz da PS2 bioZ" and "my game is sl0www!!!1!1!1 and another one isnt working" threads...
I'm just glad he didn't say something like...

"OMG converted PCSX2 code to run in Dos Protected 32bit mode via external program, and it only runs 3fps now wtf i thought it would be faster and roxors!"

there is hope for this one too...

I think everyone is simply amazed at the minds behind this emulator... i know i am

I think his point was just to let those responsible know exactly how much the people intelligent enough not to tell them they should be using DOS, really do appreciate both they're work and ethic.

We don't see hardly any emulators for current systems these days getting completed, as hardware is continuously getting so much more complex... i imagine the group that tries to write an emulator for PS3 will have a brain aneurism in v.04 and scare all the other programmers away :p.

You really have something with the DOS ideea... I`m not saying it a...stange...ideea, but there are others more stupid than this. Just wait till the next release of pcsx2, when we get a n00b invasion. You`ll get used to it, trust me.
Anyway, I guess "thank you" was the ideea of the thread. Maybe it is better to have a "perpetual thank you" thread...or not(depends on how many separate "thank you" threads we get).
I had thought of something like that (running the program in other than windows, like DOS), but my idea was how about a version of this thing that you could boot up off of? So there isn't as many other things using the cpu so its power could be completely focused on the emulation? Just a thought.

Just excuse me for a sec.

*runs outside and rolls on the ground laughing while tearing ones hair out*

Okay, omg... the second person to say Use-Dos.

I had the same thought way back when I first came here. Everyone told me the speed increase would barely be noticable.
It might have helped years ago with PSX emulation because the OS can take up a few percent of CPU power... but with the powerful modern CPUs, 0.1% of extra cpu power probably won't help much.
if you tried emulating anything 3D in dos you would have two problems. 1: DRIVER INCOMPATIBILITY, there are essentially no drivers for dos for any of the latest hardware so basically everything would need to be software rendered. 2: you would need to recode most of the functions that used built-in windows libraries which would be a huge hassle. Why on earth... would you ever make a next-gen emulator... for dos.

oh and as a j/k for the mods, why not write a script to automatically delete the first couple of posts for noobs as they tend to be usless anyways. :D
lmao.... okay i get it now..DOS or any other such thing wont work....o well nvm then
please dont revive old threads thnx ;)
