i would say the best should win... either way GPU´s are very important and they indeed bring the horse power to render the stuff we need but.... DX is the reason why the results we get sometimes aren´t what we actually expect from our cards...

finally that is starting to change and it seems like DX11 is a beauty... am learning DX11 myself as am very interested on it and also about the capabilities that offers as it finally kicked OpenGL´s butt lol.
