There's no doubt it will outperform the 5870, perhaps even the 5870x2, who knows? I hope they'll bring something good to the market, like any ATi fanboy should. The problem for nVidia is: Will it be price competitive?
ATi has its cards on the market, like last generation they forced nVidia's prices down. Not because the cards were faster, but because they're a better value and were cheaper to produce. Having a monster chip always makes it hard to be competitive on price, so it'll be interesting.
