It's getting worse and worse: http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=4623598

If it's something socialogic that explains the succes of such a thing, there is definately something wrong in society and with the musical taste of it.

I don't care about them either. I just wished music that people took time to learn to make would someday get on the charts. I wish at least 1% of them knew what a scale was, not just how to make a phat beat, or add some stupid keyboard sounds over some annoying "crazy test thing" haha that is funny though...dumb..but funny...

/me wonders what next weeks no. 1 will be.... probably a door bell that sounds like the General Lee (j/k)

Ey I had a coo-coo clock as ringtone for a while :p

But that's because it came on my phone when I bought it, I'm not going to buy ringtones such as those for €1,50 each. Not as long as I can create my own ringtones from MP3's. Guitar solos from powermetal are pretty nice :guitar:

And Beta, you are right :D
[rant]But I find it really disturbing to which level dance music has dropped during the last couple of years. Back in '98 I still loved commercial dance music when it was new. Remixes of old songs were rare, but starting from 2001 all kinds of old tunes were used in these commercial dance songs. It all had the same sound. It's the same with using hiphop tunes. In 2000 I think there was a song called HipHopping by the Klubbheads, which was based on Forget about Dre. A nice dance song, but it couldn't get more commercial... Unfortunately, that was only the beginning... At this moment you even hear remixes of those crappy ripoffs, the so called '2005 versions' :hdbash: Dance music has died, only a few good producers are left, among them DJ Tiësto... I wish there was a Dutch radio station which would only broadcast music made by musicians such as Coldplay, U2 and the like. [/rant]

Radio sucks :p

But seriously, I never listen to radio (except for the crappy station I’m forced to hear here at work). That’s why I’ve hundreds of MP3s ;)

In fact, I’ve mostly abandoned both radio and TV. I get all my news from online sources (gotta love RSS feeds :) ), and all my music from MP3s. I watch most movies by renting DVDs (and ripping them; I’m not perfect :D ). Now I only watch TV for a few TV shows (mostly Seinfeld, Monk and Married with Children [I hope they keep broadcasting the reruns]) and an occasional movie.

I listen to OceanFM, as they don't do crappy music like that. They play stuff from the 80's up to today, but it's mostly good stuff. I used to listen to Radio 1, but hte music got so crap, even the genius of Chris Moyles couldn't make up for it.
