The directx webupdater page has been updated as of today 2 days ago, they must be preparing to release an update

The 94MB file IS the latest DirectX Runtime.

Its been mislabelled as an SDK.

thats bad pc and so is mine i had to get SP3 to run directx9.0c on it

Its was running on dx9.0b even after a dx update

One question if anyone can answer it: do DirectX updates include hotfixes and patches? i remember a DirectX patch a few months back that i have saved and just wondering if i can get rid of it...

Generally, Yes i do believe it would.

However, not in this case.

The file updated in that patch is the DirectMedia handler (Quartz.dll)

I suggest using nlite to slipstream any downloaded patches into the disk.
