the A64 architecture is faster then P4, thats true.. most things are faster then netburst.
However placing a 6000+ against an equally clocked C2D will see the C2D perform from 1.5-2x faster.
The K8/9 architecture is just not fast enough to cut it for PCSX2.

the emulator uses the 1st and second cores (when MTGS is enabled) and is split across more then that if load balancing is used.

Intel Core2 and Nehalem, are Stronger then the K8/9/10 and 10.5 architectures regardless and irrespective of the number of cores on the cpu. This is brought about by not only the addition of Enhanced cpu instruction sets such as SSSE3, and SSE4, but also via the optimisation of the On Die caches,

then all you have to do is look at the advanced folding at home projects.
Intel CPU's pull twice, if not 3x as higher scores then AMD CPU's clocked at similar speeds.
