Hah.. one benchmark determining what CPU you're going to never use again..

Athlons naturally have a faster FPU, but the C series of P4s 3+GHz are quite faster than the Athlon XP 3200+. Is that 3.0 a B (533MHz FSB, in which it would be 3.06), or C (800MHz FSB)?

Wanna talk about bias? Run PCMark 2002 on both systems and see which one comes out on top. Without a doubt, the P4 3.0 will. Benchmarks are quite inconclusive, to be completely honest.

Totally cooliscool. I mean with that thinking I guess nVidia owners can't play Half-Life 2 and ATi owners are out of luck for ever attempting to play Doom 3 :p
Perfect analogy. Says it all. :D

Hell, turn HT off and run PCMark, the Intel CPU will still dominate the AMD.

If it's that big of an issue for you, just turn HT off period.

I've never had to reinstall Windows when switching HT off.. it's always been as easy as a simple bios switch, and poof, it's off.

Hydra: Of course you didn't name what ATi card and what P4 he has. Not all P4 CPUs support HT, and not all ATi cards are capable of running D3 well at high settings.

HT doesn't cause THAT drastic of a performance hit, and it doesn't cause a performance hit on EVERYTHING it's not optimized for, especially games.

Then it's kind of pointless to have hyperthreading since it's like using two slower cpus...
Uh, no it's not.
