Didn't know where to post it so here goes
I use Net Meter to monitor net traffic on my PC it work great for web surfing and downloading stuff via torrent but it show odd speeds in games like MMO or FPS
In MMO i play it shows 2 KByte/s max upload/download
In CSS (FPS) 8 KBytes/s upload/download
the same is with Skype when i talk with my friend it shows
max 7 KBytes/s upload/download

My question is are those values correct how much speed does a net game use ??

Yes.

Not very much. The most important factor is data transmission delay (ping), which is why broadband internet connections are vastly preferred over dialup connections for online gaming.

Adsl 2 = good ping
8mb adsl = bad ping
512-1.5mb adsl = good ping.

.....8mb connections do some wierd **** that screws the ping up.

I think it has something to do with packet size.

packet size is 1496 for PPPoE and 1500 for PPPoA

In that case, 8mb/sec ADSL is f***** up indeed.

Does your broadband modem connect into a phone jack or a cable (TV) line?
