Check the NesterDC SE website

If you're using Mozilla you should see a fairly cool pulsing effect on the page. You IE guys are SOL. Your browser sucks because it doesn't do CSS background positioning the right way.

But, anyways, yeah... That's the date. No backing out of this one. It's really close right now. I've even had one person do some testing already.
Full list of features can be found here
Additional information taken from dcemulation's message board:

- Scherzo did all he can to make PAL games run as smooth as possible on an NTSC DC and vice versa, however it is not perfect, the only solution seems to be to play PAL roms on a PAL DC and NTSC roms on an NTSC system.
I have made a correction so that at least the game action is "correct" speed. But, like I said, it's choppy. Of course, If you have a PAL Dreamcast everything will work just fine for PAL games, but then NTSC games will be choppy in a different way. Instead of spreading less NES frames (50) over more DC frames (60), the opposite has to occur. 10 frames need to be skipped every second to have correct speed for NTSC roms on a PAL DC, not to mention the sound probably being too slow.

Solution is... If you've got a PAL DC, just put PAL roms on it and you'll be all good. There's really no perfect solution for region crossovers.
- Almost every single game will be running at full speed with stereo sound.
Besides lots of bells and whistles, SE fixes compatiblity issues in 7.1b. It also sports true fullspeed for 99.9% of games, and stereo separation of NES sound channels. Of course there's a lot more. Check around the NesterDC SE status topics here and you'll get feel for what this new version is all about.

Finally the perfect NES emulator will see the light of day within a month. I can't wait to play all the games I wanted and to check out all of the cool features. Judging from his features list he still has got some stuff to do, or he might drop a few of them, which wouldn't be too much of a shame considering what has been implemented already.

Three cheers for the DC emulation scene :thumb:

ps. Can this become a main page post please? :emb:

I get a fairly cool pulsing effect on IE but an "operation timed out" error message on Mozilla Firefox. =O
I don't get it, am I SOL now?

Some information that might be interesting for you guys:

Scherzo said:
Just about any game that uses mapper 5 (MMC5) will not run fullspeed / full framerate. Action will be fullspeed but frames have to be dropped. These are the games that use MMC5:

Bandit Kings of Ancient China
Castlevania 3
Gemfire
Gunsight
Just Breed
L'Emperuer
Laser Invasion
Metal Slader Glory
Nobunaga's Ambition 2
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2
Uncharted Waters

So, like I've said in the past, 99.9% of games run true fullspeed. The above games are the exceptions.
