Need some help

Hi guys. First post. Let me warn you, I'm not very computer savy so please dumb down your answers so that poor old me might follow them.:D

So I downloaded the epsxe emulator. I also downloaded the .dll that was needed for it to run. Now is when I run into trouble.

When I try to configure the emulator it doesn't let me configure the video settings. So basically it keeps telling me I need to configure the video, but it doesn't bring up anything in the drop menu for me to select. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you start ePSXe with a shortcut?

Yes. Then click configure and then click video. But the drop menu doesn't give me an option like the sound one does.

Try opening up the folder with ePSXe in it and running it directly from there by double-clicking 'epsxe.exe'.
Tried running it through the folder and yes I have petes video plug in
is it able to detect the SPU and CDR plugins? if you downloaded the plugins and they came in an archive did you actually extract them out of it and into the directory or did you just place the archive itself in there?
It detects sound and cdrom plugins(at least I think it is, I'm running ePSXe SPU core 1.7.0 for sound). It just won't detect the video one.
WOW I'm an idiot. It was so simple to fix. Thanks for the help though guys.

I do have another question though. I have a iso file that when I try to decompress it says it has an unknown format or is damaged. Now I have gotten the exact same file before my hard drive got fried and it worked, but this time it doesn't. Any way to fix this problem.

You're not talking about what I think you're talking about, are you? oO

Maybe, maybe not. I'm going to just go out and buy the game anyways. It isn't that much nowadays. Just wanted to get a head start on it. Let me ask this, in the past I have had problems with running Legend of Dragoon. Will it run better off of a CD-ROM than an image?
And I heard it will run better with ePSXe than any other emulator?
Go buy the game, and we'll help you then. for now, we cannot.
No problem. Can you answer me if it'll run better on ePSXe though? That doens't have to do with any downloading. Just performance issues.
performance on epsxe depends on hardware and settings. generally playing from images can cut down loading times a bit and possibly stuttering, but it will not increase frame rates.
