Okay i had epsxe on my old computer and everything worked perfectly. Now a few months ago I got a new computer and I tried epsxe a few days ago and I cant get it to work. It doesnt try to read the CD's or play any .ISO's. All I get is a black screen. I appologise if this has been resolved in another thread or anything. I have tried all drivers that I can find and nothing seems to work.

My computer:
Advent T9201
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.4 Ghz
512MB DDR
250GB SATA HDD
16x DVD, 8x DVDRW Multi(Dual layer)
ATI Radeon 9550 256MB
Windows XP Home Edition

As I said I have tried everything I can. Hopefully someone here can help. Thanks

First, let's try the simple way. Use peops gpu, internal spu, and either xeven's or sapu's cd-r plugins, that autoconfigure themselves (but specifying the drive to read from won't hurt ;) ). Failing that, make sure to have latest drivers instaled for your videocard. Remember that you need to dump a bios from your console and have it on the epsxe's bios subfolder in order to make it work.

Okay.. I done that but when I try to configure Xevens cd-r plugin it says "Error: Initialization failed!" then "Drive Error: Unable to find CDrom drives on this computer". But I have a DVD drive and a DVD-RW drive. Anyone know what to do please?

Download peops cd-r plugin, and use ioctl interface. If that still doesn't work, try with the isos. Wich program did you use to make them? How are you loading them?

Okay I done that and it tells me to choose a cd drive. I do so then it tells me to choose a speed. I try the auto detection then epsxe stops responding and has to close. I got the ff8 .iso straight from the cd because the ff8 games are allready in one .iso file on the cd's. and i load them from file > run cd or file > run iso.

Edit: I also tryed all the other speeds without the auto detection thing and epsxe closed itself down everytime i tried to load a .IMG or a CD.

Not in the original ones. Try buying the game and reading the [rules]rules[/rules]. No support given on piracy. This has been recorded on your personal log. Further rule violations will result in a ban. Closing.

Edit: Seems like Zhou got confuse with what an ISO is, and made me believe it was a pirated copy of the game, i'm reopening this as he clarified me the mistake.

Zhou, an iso of a cd can never be one of the files inside of the cd. An ISO is an exact binary image of the cd, with all of it's contents, and resembling the data estrcuture used to create it (there are different kinds of data strcutures for cd's). Try using an app like aldo's isoproducer, isobuster, alcohol120%(recomended, use the .ccd format) or clonecd (recomended) to create a iso, and go on from there.

(i appologise for the double post)

Okay i have made an .ISO of disk 1 but the same thing happens. Heres that log file thing

* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0.
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [bios\scph1001.bin].
* Loading ISO Format [BIN/IMG2352] ok
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* Doing init gpu[0]...
* Gpu open[0]...
* Direct input init ok.
* Doing spu init...
* Spu open...

All i get is a black window... No sound... No video... nothing. And this is the same with all the different video plugins that i try. Anyone got anything else that i can try please?

Depending on your location, the game might need a ppf patch. Try that.

You can always try a different emu, like PSXeven or PCSX.
